Through my research and evidence throughout this semester, here is what I believe are the most important things to look out for in the future. Foresight is incredibly important, and therefore we should be kept up to date on that is going to change in the global supply chain
Sustainability Legislation Needs to be Taken into Account when Designing Future Supply chains
The EU's incoming supply chain legislation and certifications such as Nordic Swan show a rise on governmental action for sustainable goods. They aren't trends and infrastructure has to be built to accommodate the shifting consumer landscape of sustainable goods.
Brands will Attempt to Nearshore Products as a Reactive Measure
As more brands become weary about the global supply chain, the idea of nearshoring products will sound more valuable. Nearshoring will help brands to elevate high shipping costs and get products to customers faster.
Regenerative Materials are the next Big Trend for the Sustainable Fashion world
We are in the early stage of investing in regeneratie products, as this continues to grow we should be more weary of companies attempting greenwash to sell "regenerative" products. Brands that have been investing since 2020 are already ahead of the curve on this.
